<p>High-sugar diets can significantly affect your vitamin B1 levels. A vitamin B1 deficiency can cause fluid retention and lactic acid buildup, which can show up as restless legs syndrome. Many complications associated with diabetes type 1 and type 2 are related to vitamin B1 deficiency. </p>

<p>Vitamin B1, or thiamine, supports a healthy nervous system and the process that turns fuel into usable energy in the body.</p>
